Natural Stones

Nothing can match the beauty of natural stone. Every piece is unique and matchless. Natural stone is cut out from a mountainside in large blocks. These blocks are then sliced into slabs. There are many types of natural stones, each with a different blend of characteristics that make natural stone a one-of-a-kind, beautiful choice for your home. Learn More

Marble

Marble is another natural stone that is popular for sweeping lines, beautiful colors and elegant look. It comes in a wide variety of colors and veining. Natural marble is a hard, durable stone but owners must be careful to protect it from water, spills and stains. Certain chemicals, citric or acidic items can etch marble surfaces.

Eudy's Quartzite Countertops

Quartzite

Quartzite is a beautiful material that is naturally strong, resists heat and is hard to stain. It is often called the “granite that looks like marble” because its durability and performance can range from that of a marble to a granite, depending on its mineral content. It typically performs like a granite but in some cases its composition can allow it to scratch, stain or etch.

Granite

Granite is a hard, igneous rock that is found in various forms throughout the earth. It is the most popular choice for natural stone countertops due to its durability and resistance to scratching, staining, etching and heat. Granite is considered a low-maintenance countertop surface, but because it is a porous material it is recommended to seal it periodically. Certain colors of granite are more porous than others and this will determine how often your granite should be sealed.

Soapstone

Soapstone is a dark grey or green variety of talc. It is softer to the touch than other stones so it has a tendency to scratch or chip with heavy wear, but it is also very dense so it doesn’t require a sealant. It is also heat resistant. Soapstone will darken over time and is a good choice when trying to achieve an old fashioned or rustic look.

Eudy's Cabinets Quartz countertops

Quartz

Quartz countertops are made of approximately 93% crushed quartz and 7% resin binder. The biggest benefit of quartz is its long-term durability and ease of maintenance. Quartz does not require the regular treatment that some natural stones do. It is heat, scratch and stain resistant and it is non-porous so it does not require sealing. Quartz is much more uniform in color and does not have the movement and variation of natural stones.
